World Travel’s Privacy Policy

World Travel is committed to respecting your privacy. We have developed the following privacy policy adhering to ten principals, in order to comply with the Canadian Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. This legislation recognizes the right of privacy of individuals with respect to their personal information.

Principle One: Accountability

World Travel is responsible for maintaining and protecting our client’s personal information. We have assigned an individual who is accountable for World Travel’s compliance with the Ten Privacy Principles.

Principle Two: Identifying Purposes

Our travel consultants only pass on information when our clients request travel arrangements to be made. To provide and process the services you request, World Travel shares your personal information with service providers that perform certain services on our behalf. We only share information once travel is reserved or purchased. Our service providers require information about you to process and confirm your travel arrangements. These service providers will disclose information about you to hotel, airline, cruise line, rental car and/or other travel suppliers whose products you have purchased. This information can consist of your name, address, phone number, gender, credit card number, frequent flyer numbers, hotel identification numbers, and passport numbers. World Travel uses reputable companies, however we can not be responsible for these suppliers using or disclosing your information without your permission.

Principle Three: Consent

The knowledge and consent of the customer are required for the collection, use or disclosure of customer information except where required or permitted by law. Your consent can be obtained in a variety of ways. It may be obtained expressly, or it may be determined from circumstances that your consent can be implied. Consent will be implied whenever you have contacted us in regard to a product or service, or via a means of communication from which it is reasonably apparent hat you have seen references to the existence and availability of this privacy policy. Specifically, World Travel believes that you expect to be advised of new or existing products or services that are relevant to you.

Mailing Lists:

If you would like to join our mailing list and be informed of seat sales, other promotional offers or general travel information, we ask for name, address, phone number and email address. We use this information to communicate with you.

Principle Four: Limiting Collection

The customer information collected must be limited to those details necessary for the purposes identified by World Travel. Information must be collected by fair and lawful means.

Principle Five: Limiting Use, Disclosure and Retention

Customer information may only be used or disclosed for the purpose for which it was collected unless the customer has otherwise consented, or when it is required or permitted by law.

Principle Six: Accuracy

Customer information must be maintained in as accurate, complete and up-to-date form as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it is to be used.

Principle Seven: Safeguarding Customer Information

Appropriate measures are taken to safeguard your personal information. Employees are aware of the importance of maintaining security and the confidentiality of our clients.

Principle Eight: Openness

World Travel is required to make information available to customers concerning the policies and practices that apply to the management of their information.
